Katy Perry : I Didn't Dis Beyonce! Glad that one's cleared up. Katy Perry insists she didn't slam Beyonce or her music in a recent interview. "F*ck all y'all . . . dat thinks I dissed anyone, puhlez," Perry, 27 Tweeted on Wednesday. "Get a life, cuz it's not mine! #hoodratcominout. If ya ears are filled with wax it's time to get a cleanse boo. Anywayz . . . (steps off box)."

The confusion arose after the "Part of Me" singer referenced "Beautiful Liar," Beyonce's 2007 duet with Shakira when speaking of a not-yet-recorded collaboration with her BFF Rihanna.

"I want my Rihanna duet" to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song 'Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves,'" she told BBC Radio of a classic female empowerment tune from 1985. "Not 'Beautiful Liar.'"

She added : "How disappointed would you be if [our] song came out and it's no good?"

ajd : Personally, i didn't think she was trying to diss beyonce, i think she was just trying to say that she wanted to do a song that empowers women (I'm Every Woman/Sisters are Doin it For Themselves) rather than a song thats about two women talking about a man that cheated on them (Monica/Brandy Beyonce/Shakira). When it comes to her response I think she sounds really ignorant and like someone with no sense, and I don't think it was necessary to be so defensive.

After singing a cover of a Jay-Z track Katy Perry took an apparent swipe at his wife Beyonce. The California Gurl singer was talking about her upcoming collaboration with Rihanna - saying she wanted their track to be 'iconic'. Katy then went on to cite Beyonce and Shakira's 2007 song Beautiful Liar - suggesting it would not stand the test of time.

After performing a cover of Jay-Z and Kanye West's song N**gas in Paris on the UK's Radio 1, Katy explained how she and Rihanna 'collaborate on a lot of things, just not songs yet' adding, 'we have a great friendship'. Referring to their upcoming collaboration she said: 'Its' one of those things where it's gotten so much build up that if we don't' deliver, like, the best song... We're both busy, but we planted a seed two years ago, we're just looking for that special one. 'How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it wasn't that good? So sometimes you have to wait for greatness.'
